BOSTON, Ma. (Aug 23rd, 2024) — On August 15th, 2024, nine Get Girls Going (GGG) Teen Entrepreneurs pitched their business ideas to a panel of three judges and an audience of 50 at the 2024 GGG Annual Pitch Night at Simmons University’s Linda K Paresky Conference Center.

Over the course of six weeks, teen entrepreneurs at GGG engaged in a transformative experience, delving deep into the challenges facing their community. Through the Design Thinking Process for Social Enterprises, they not only identified and analyzed critical social issues but also developed innovative business solutions to address them. By conducting empathy interviews with their target audience, these young women gained profound insights into real-world problems, enabling them to craft a Business Plan that precisely articulated how their ideas would serve their communities. This journey was not just about creating businesses but about empowering young Black and brown women to become agents of change in their communities.

GGG awarded four cash prizes at the 2024 pitch night:

• First place prize awarded to Iseoluwa Osho, 11th grade, the founder of Boost — $1000
• Second place prize awarded to Adanna Anigbogu, 11th grade, founder of Crowns & Radiance — $700
• Third place prize awarded to Desaray Robinson, 9th grade, the founder of NextGen Careers — $500
• Audience choice awarded to Jade Reese, 10th grade, founder of The Garden Connection — $250

The Judge Panel:

The three judge panel used a GGG developed rubric to measure the quality of each pitch. The rubric was developed to capture the entrepreneurial concepts covered during the 6-week program. The rubric asked judges to pay close attention 6 major topics: Problem, Customers, Revenue, Competitive Analysis, Cost, and Prototype.
